From blood and ash, by Jennifer L. Armentrout, was one of the first books I read in the Young Adult fantasy genre. And it left me wanting more.
I started of reading for fun, but ended up planning and plotting every single detail along with Poppy in her adventure.

Poppy:-
Her personality and her inner thoughts are something the reader generally tends to understand. I, myself, saw my reflection in Poppy with her adventurous spirit and determination.
Weather it be her veiled self, or the self she is when with Hawk, Poppy grasps the readers attention, attracting a keen sense of compatibility with her.

Hawk:-
From his first encounter with Poppy, I knew I would fall in love with him. The way he protects her even when she does not need saving; the way he slowly slides into her life gaining her trust. We also get a hint that Hawk plays a much bigger role than just Poppy's personal guard. Even when he gives al the reasons not to trust him, the readers and well Poppy, easily and readily trust that man. I did too.

The significance of the enemy to lover trope in this book, entitles the book to remain captivating with plots and twists, as well as intimate scenes between our love interest. Never in my life, have I wanted a dagger against my enemy's neck while we stare each other in the eye and finally share a passionate kiss. OKAY FANGIRLING NOW!!.

All in all, this book has not been disappointing at all instead has me fetching for similar books to fill the emptiness in my heart. So I end up re-reading this book and its sequels again and again. So, YES I give it a 5- star and I Know that many others will too.
